Digestive enzymes
Digestive enzymes, which are only a few of the thousands of known enzymes, are complex proteins that are found in the digestive tract. They are secreted by different glands in the body, including the salivary glands, the stomach and pancreas glands and the glands in the small intestines. They also each have specific sites of action, including the mouth, the stomach, the duodenum and the jejunum. The human body produces around 22 different types of digestive enzymes, each of which acts on a different type of food.
The number of digestive enzymes produced by our bodies decreases as we age – enzyme production in the body actually decreases by as much as 30% in most adults over 50. Caffeine and alcohol intake, illness, pregnancy, stress, severe weather and exercise can also all take their toll on our finite enzyme reserves.
Luckily, digestive enzymes are also found naturally in fruits, vegetables, herbs and other raw foods.

I just want to inform you that I have been using this for around a year. Recently I ordered my fourth and fifth bottle because they work so well for me. Normally I only need to eat one capsule a day unless I have had lots. A fantastic digestive aid. Before this I really suffered from heartburn but since taking digestiveaid I can’t remember heartburn the way I used to get it. Another great thing about this product is the fact it has lots of beneficial herbs ie turmeric powder to help my digestive system. Thank you specialistsupplements for providing this.

I need digestive enzymes because of some medication i must take. For 2 years i have been looking for a plant-based supplement with a sufficiently high level of enzymes – particularly lipase. I had been taking Creon, which is derived from pig’s pancreas. I was very unhappy about this. These enzymes have high level of Lipase (and other enzymes) and i take 1 or 2 with each meal. They’re working superbly for me. I’m extremely happy with them and will definitely be ordering them again.

This product seems to reduce wind after eating – particularly fibre which as we know is good for us! My sister says “fibre means farts” – well not necessarily…..
